Late night blog posting ftw!
Today I thought I would review my favourite foundation of the moment: Maybelline’s Superstay Better Skin Foundation!
Overall, I love this foundation. It’s a new line this year, and I’m already on my second bottle having become disenchanted with my No. 7 foundation. In my opinion this is the best foundation from Maybelline I have ever tried, especially for pale skin (personally, I never got on with their Fit Me range). Here’s a little more about what I thought about it.
Great choice of shades
I personally think the choice of shades in this foundation is fantastic. Fair girls like myself will know how hard it is to find a good foundation that doesn’t make you have a majorly obvious tanline, and so far I think I’ve found it (I use it in Light Beige).
Good medium coverage without caking
This foundation promises medium coverage, and that’s what it delivers. I think it does an excellent job of covering up blemishes and giving an even skin tone without needing to cake it on. It doesn’t feel heavy on the face either.
Not convinced by the ‘Better Skin’ promise
Personally, I have seen no change in terms of my skin since using this foundation. It does contain elements such as Vitamin B5 which is good for hydration, but I haven’t noticed a change in breakouts or dryness since I started using this product.
Although I’m a bit disappointed on the delivery of the ‘Better Skin’, this is certainly a great longwearing foundation. I use this as my general all-rounder, and whether you’re going to work or out on the town, it stays with you and keeps you looking great. For best results, use a primer before application and use a holding product following application.
Rating: 4/5 (delivers on MOST of what it promises)
Repurchase?: Have already, and may do so again.
Shade used: Light Beige (fantastic for pale skin!)
Price range: £8.99 (Boots), AU$21.95 (Priceline)
